How are consumer companies conquering climate action?
December 9 2022
Our latest report reveals what impact, if any, Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard’s decision to hand the company over to a climate charity had on other businesses in the sector.
This report reviews the sentiment and visibility of 10 companies, as well as looking at the most important topics for the sector when looking at climate action.
Key findings of the report are:
- Patagonia continually looks for ways to drive its reputation in sustainability, for example by sourcing fibres that are not derived from petrochemicals and collaborating with Carbios to accelerate the commercialisation of bio-recycling technology.
- Ikea and Unilever show the outcomes of their commitments to decarbonisation after signing the Climate Pledge and founding the EV100 Initiative.
- Ikea, Unilever, Primark, Lush and L’Oreal demonstrate the reputational uplift from advancing technological capabilities, including a $25 million grant for climate-friendly cooling and running pilots to demonstrate the potential of hydrogen.
